Vanhemmat lapset yllättivät tänään kukkakimpulla. Suloisia!

Ihanaa, että lämpö on viimeinkin löytänyt takaisin Suomeen. Olen nauttinut täysin siemauksin siitä, että olen voinut istua terassilla lukemassa kirjaa, syödä jätskiä, lojua välillä riippumatossa. Aamulla kävin ekalla hölkkälenkillä noin vuoteen. Ekan kerran sen jälkeen, kun rauta-arvoni ovat alkaneet olla siedettävissä kantimissa. Eikä ollut edes ihan kamalaa. Paljon kamalampaa oli silloin, kun ei jaksanut yhtään juosta, ja hengästyminen oli niin megalomaanista, että siihen tunsi romahtavansa. Totta kai oli pakko kävellä välissä, mutta hengästyminen meni ohi, niin että sitä sitten taas hetken päästä jaksoi taas kipittää. Näin ei ollut vuosi sitten.

Mä rakastan tota meidän villiviinin kuorruttamaa terassia. Joka kesä katselen noita viininvarsia ja -lehtiä sinistä taivasta vasten ja ajattelen, että tämän kesäisemmäksi tämä ei mene.

Jätin toistaiseksi kesken ”Sunny side up” -kirjan ja nyt on menossa Gervase Phinnin ”The School at the Top of the Dale”. Mä niin vannoin, etten tältä Brittilän reissulta raahaisi kirjoja, kun yhtä hyvin voin tilata ne Amazonista, ja hah-hah, sieltä mä taas tulin viiden uuden kirjan kanssa. Siellä yksinkertaisesti sekoaa, kun pääsee ihan oikeaan kirjakauppaan, jollaisia Suomesta ei löydy yhtä ainutta kappaletta. Tarjonta on jotain aivan tajunnanräjäyttävää, kun kirjat täyttävät viisi isoa kerrosta kuten Waterstonesilla, tai edes noin kolme kerrosta, kuten Cambridgen Heffersillä. Ei askartelutarvikkeita tai sisustustuotteita kuten vaikka Suomalaisessa Kirjakaupassa, vaan yksinkertaisesti kirjoja.

En ole saanut aikaiseksi lähteä yhteenkään Pori Jazzin tilaisuuteen tai edes Kirkkopuistossa soi -tapahtuman konsertteihin. Tässä meni muutama päivä silleen kaupungilla asioita hoitaessa (raahasin mm. vastustelevan nuorimmaiseni väkipakolla vaateostoksille alennusmyynteihin) ja muuta touhutessa, että tänään olin aivan älyttömän onnellinen siitä, ettei tarvinnut lähteä mihinkään. Oman puutarhan rauha on ollut täyttä kultaa.

  1. Mä en ulkoilua näillä helteillä harrasta enkä osaa nauttia, kun yli 20 asteen lämpötila nousee.
    Todellakaan ei varsinaisia kirjakauppoja enää ole, sinä sen sanoit. Parikyt vuotta sitten ja kait hiuk ennenkin alkoi tulla tietokoneita ja levyjä ja vaikka mitä tilpehööriä ja kirjoja vähemmän ja vähemmän.
    Toisaalta kirjafriikille monen kerroksen valikoima ei voi olla piipahduksen paikka, siellä kuluisi päivä jos toinenkin.
    Villiviini on nätti!

    • Mun mielestä kesällä MINIMIlämpötila on 20, ennen kuin sitä voi edes kesäksi kutsua. – Mies kyllä voihkii jo parissakympissä. En ymmärrä. Näin erilaisia me ollaan!
      Joo, siis, Helsingin Akateeminen on ainut järjellinen kirjakauppa koko Suomessa, eikä sekään ole vielä kirjakauppa näiden brittisiskojensa rinnalla. Suomalaisesta on tullut ihan krääsäkauppa.
      Mun salainen unelmani onkin viettää yö Waterstonesilla. Selata kirjoja yömyöhään ja välillä nukkua makuupussissa pari tuntia 😀
